- Stage One: Intermittent, it is the least severe asthmatic stage where the frequency of symptoms would be twice a week or so.

- Stage Three: Moderate persistent; by this stage, the condition would start to become severe and will indicate the symptoms with high frequency.
- Stage Four: Severe persistent, by this stage, the condition would be severe, and the symptoms will arise daily, and an asthmatic may suffer from irregular/disturbed sleeping patterns.
