Kidneys are one of the vital organs of the human body. There are many significant activities associated with the kidneys. A kidney, an organ similar to the fist’s size, has functions of sky limits. In general, the etiquette says that we should keep our environment clean. In the same manner, kidneys clear the waste out of the body and help other organs in creating a healthy environment within the human body.

No matter how hard you try to keep yourself fit and healthy, there would be just one little mistake, and it will make your body suffer.

When it comes to kidney diseases, humans cannot control specific causes, such as genetic reasons. On the other hand, some causes can be prevented on time, and the disease can be rescued before it crosses the line of danger.

In this blog, we will read about three reasons that are directly connected with kidney disease.

High blood pressure

Kidney disease can result in high blood pressure in many middle and old aged people. The opposite of this condition says that high blood pressure increases the risk of developing kidney problems. This condition reduces the kidneys’ ability to remove extra fluids and waste from the blood and can fail the kidneys permanently. In case the kidneys fail, their function needs to treat with proper Ayurvedic treatment. Many reasons can cause high blood pressure in humans and eventually lead to kidney problems such as age factor (being over 50 years), excess sodium intake, uneven or overweight, smoking habits, alcohol habits, stress, and lack of physical activities.

Creatinine

Creatinine is a waste product that is the result of muscle metabolism. As the kidneys become impaired, the creatinine level in the blood starts rising due to the reduced clearance ability of the kidneys. An abnormal rise in creatinine mainly indicates a possible malfunction of the organs. Specific reasons can directly or indirectly increase the level of creatinine in the blood. These reasons are heart disease, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure or hypertension, polycystic kidney disease, injury to kidneys, glomerulonephritis, lupus, nephrotic syndrome, a genetic disorder, and a family history of kidney disease.

Kidney stones

A kidney stone is a crystalline mineral material that is unusually hard and formed within the kidney or urinary tract. Kidney stones can eventually lead to kidney failure if the proper treatment is not taken to drive out the stones from the bladder. It can also lead to multiple organ failure if the toxin spreads to the body. The body absorbs the needful nutrition, and the remaining waste products travel through the bloodstream to the kidneys. The waste products get flushed from the body through urine. When there are too much waste and too little liquid in the urine, crystals begin to form, which stick together and form solid masses or kidney stones. The reasons for kidney stones forming in the body may vary with their type.

There are mainly four types of kidney stones. These are –

  1. Calcium Stones: these are the most common form of kidney stones. It is formed when there is too much calcium in the urine and an overactive parathyroid gland, an inherited condition called hypercalciuria, some cancers, kidney disease, and sarcoidosis.
  2. Struvite Stones: these are horn-shaped, can grow quite large and may cause urinary tract infection (UTI). “Kidney Disease With Kidney Stones”
  3. Uric Acid Stones: These are softer than other kidney stones. They may arise due to a high-protein low-fiber diet. Patients suffering from gout are found to be at a higher risk of getting uric acid stones.
  4. Cystine Stones: It’s a rare hereditary disorder called cystinuria. Cystine stones are more significant than other forms for kidney stones and tend to recur.

Prevention of kidney disease

Getting the kidneys checked regularly helps in the prevention of the risk factors that may cause kidney problems in humans. These risk factors comprise of diabetes, high blood pressure, family history of kidney disease, etc. If a person lies in the list of mentioned risk list, he or she should work on the prevention of these factors as soon as possible. Given below are some prevention methods of kidney problems-

  1. Keep a check on the weight and eat healthy- clean food always.
  2. Drink lots of water and keep the body hydrated.
  3. Avoid the consumption of aerated drinks.
  4. Quit smoking habits if you have any and focus more on physical activities.
  5. Eliminate the consumption of alcohol.
